Sony Xperia XR with USB Type-C surfaces online


Last month, a couple of live photos of n unnamed Sony smartphone with model number F8331 surfaced online, which is reportedly called Xperia XR. Now a few alleged press renders of the smartphone have been leaked courtesy of @Onleaks.

As seen in the renders, the Xperia XR will be Sony's first smartphone to feature USB Type-C port. It will sport a fresh design with curved sides and a flat and top button. The phone will also have a dedicated camera button, while the power button will be on the side and is expected to pack fingerprint sensor. At the back, the rear camera will be accompanied by dual-LED flash.

According the @Onleaks, the Xperia XR might roughly measure 146.4 x 71.9 x 8.1mm, making it slightly larger than Xperia X and Xperia X Performance. According to earlier reports the Xperia XR will be Sony's flagship offering and will have 5.1-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 820 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt storage, 23MP rear camera, 12MP front camera, 4K video recording support on both front/rear cameras, NFC and Android Marshmallow.

Sony is expected to unveil the Xperia XR (F8331) at its IFA 2016 event on September 1.
