Google Earth gets VR treatment


You can now experience Google Earth in virtual reality allowing you visit any part of the world,without having to travel there in real life.

The VR version of Google Earth is currently available for the $799 HTC Vive and can be downloaded from the Stream VR store. The minimum requirement to run the app is 8GB RAM and it is only available for VR ready Windows PC.

With Google Earth VR you'll be able to explore major destination on earth in 360-degree view including  Amazon River, the Manhattan skyline, the Grand Canyon, the Swiss Alps, and more at the comfort of your home via virtual reality. You'll be also able to change the position of the sun or alter the time as well using the controller.

Google says that support for other platforms will roll out in the future.
