Nougat 7.1.1 Is Being Rolled Out To Axon 7 Mini Along With Support For T-Mobile WiFi Calling

Google had released the stable version of Nougat in August last year. It's been more than ten months since Nougat's official release and the Axon 7 Mini is now finally being upgraded to Nougat.

ZTE has commenced the rollout of Android 7.1.1 for the Axon 7 Mini. Nougat 7.1.1 includes new emojis, support for app shortcuts, circular icons, split screen mode for multitasking and an improved Doze for better battery life. To know more about the new features introduced in Nougat 7.1.1, you can take a look at the changelog here.

Apart from all the Nougat goodies, this update also includes support for WiFi calling with T-Mobile. This means that if you are a T-Mobile subscriber, you can use your Axon 7 Mini to text and call without worrying about mobile data usage.

ZTE had earlier updated Axon 7's elder sibling the Axon 7 to Nougat in February. The Axon 7 was then updated to Android 7.1.1 in March, followed by another update in May.

For installing the Nougat update on your Axon 7 Mini, ZTE recommends you to ensure that your device's battery level is at least 30%. You can check for the update manually by heading over to Settings > System Update.
