OnePlus to unveil OnePlus 5 on June 20, India launch set for June 22

OnePlus has finally revealed the launch date of its next flagship slayer. June 20 will be the date, the OnePlus 5 will break cover. The event will kick off 12pm EDT (21:30 IST) and will be live streamed on Oneplus.net.

In India, the OnePlus 5 will be launched on June 22, with an event scheduled in NSCI Dome in Mumbai at 2pm IST. Those interested in attending the OnePlus 5 launch event in Mumbai can purchase tickets from OnePlus' online store on June 12. Attendees will be offered a gift hamper full of goodies, while limited number will be able to purchase the OnePlus 5 at the event itself. 

However, OnePlus will be available online exclusively on Amazon India on the same day (June 22) itself starting 4:30pm. Hope they will have enough stock at hand.

OnePlus will also hold popup events in New York, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Oulu, Tampere and Turku, as well where you can experience the OnePlus 5. More details are available on the OnePlus  website (global).

The company also shared an invite (both global and India launch) that shows an image of the sea along with a small square that zooms on a part of it, and has a text inside which reads "Focus on What Matters" indicating that OnePlus 5 will have dual cameras to offer background blur.

The dual-cameras is likely to be the highlight of OnePlus 5, as the company has worked with DxO to enhance the phone's camera.

OnePlus has already confirmed few details regarding OnePlus 5. It will feature slim design, Full HD display, Snapdragon 835 processor, headphone jack, and fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button.

Meanwhile, ahead of the official OnePlus 5 unveiling, few leaked details of the device has surfaced. 

First up, Android Police has shared the first official looking render of the OnePlus 5 in Black color. As seen in the render, the OnePlus 5 looks a lot like Apple's iPhone 7 Plus, including similar horizontal camera arrangement. Interestingly, Oppo's upcoming R11 will also have the same design.

Next Amazon India has accidentally confirmed two key specs of OnePlus 5. The source code of the OnePlus 5 Amazon India landing page reveals that OnePlus 5 will be equipped with 2.35GHz Snapdragon 835 processor and pack a whooping 8GB RAM, which is present only on two devices: Asus ZenFone AR and nubia Z17. But, we can also expect a 6GB RAM model of OnePlus 5.
