Google Pixel 2 shows up at FCC
Google is most likely to unveil the Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 smartphones later this year. Now the smaller Pixel 2 carrying model number G011A has passed through FCC, and reveals some of the key details.
The FCC filing confirms that HTC is going to the manufacturer of the smaller Pixel 2, and the sample screenshot included in the documentation suggest that HTC is bringing U11's Squeeze feature function to the device. It will be called Active Edge, and will allow users to activate Google Assistant by squeezing the edge of Pixel 2.
The Pixel 2 certified by FCC, runs Android 8.0.1 and the security patch is dated August 5. The listing further reveals that Pixel 2 will utilize Snapdragon 835/836 Mobile Platform (reference: basedband number 8898) and house 64GB of storage, but only 50.66GB is available.
Previous reports suggest that Pixel 2 will have a design that's similar to last year's Pixel, but with smaller glass back. It's expected to feature 5-inch Full HD display, 4GB RAM, single camera, front facing stereo speaker, rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C port, and sadly there will be no headphone jack.
If you were craving for a bezel-less design on Pixel, Google has got you covered with the bigger Pixel XL 2. It will be manufactured by LG, and is said to have 6.44-inch display with very slim bezels.
